First Shots Fired On the New Facility!

Several charter members arrived early and fired the
very first shots on the 100 yard rifle range. Click

About 20 new members took the
orientation class
and received training from NRA certified instructors.

Final zoning granted - end of July 2002

Purchase of land finalized - August 9, 2002

Facility construction started - January 1, 2003
|
|
|
Contract issued to perform final engineering drawings and
drainage studies - January 28, 2003
|

|
New membership applications accepted - October 1, 2003
|
|
|
Facility partially opened for weekend use - November 2003
|
|
|
Contractor estimates that all initial ranges will be completed by
early 2004.

|
Shotgun range open for weekend use - February 2004

This Land Is Our Land
|

At 2:30 pm Friday, August 9th 2002, Bill Last,
Treasurer, and Dave Leestma, President,
(the two officers who must sign all contracts)
met at Rio Rancho Title Company and closed on
the property. It took about 10 minutes. After all
the struggles over the past two-and-a-half years
to get to that point, it seemed almost anti-climactic.
Everyone knows of Murphy's Law. Bill said it best,
"We have been on a first name basis with Murphy."
